Ea files trademark for mirror's edge catalyst

Update: The official Mirror's Edge Twitter account has posted the following tease, confirming the word "Catalyst" will in some way be tied to the new Mirror's Edge.

Original Story: Electronic Arts has filed a trademark for something called Mirror's Edge Catalyst.

The trademark was specifically filed for "computer game software; downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices; video game software," as well as "entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game."

This new Mirror's Edge, which is currently in development at DICE, was announced back at E3 2013, and has since been confirmed for release in 2016. Might Catalyst be the sub-heading for this highly anticipated sequel?

We've reached out to EA for comment, and will update as soon as we receive a response.

Electronic Arts will be holding a press conference next week at E3, during which we'll likely hear more about DICE's first-person action parkour game.
