Blizzard hiring to restore warcraft 3, diablo 2, and starcraft 'to glory'
A new job listing at Blizzard Entertainment is hinting at the possibility of remastering some of its most popular classic games.
According to a post on Blizzard’s website, the developer is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Classic Games to help restore StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II and allegedly update them for modern PCs.
“Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation,” Blizzard said.
“We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.”
The job listing seeks applicants who can “make gameplay first again on modern operating systems” and improve multiplayer through “combat hacking”.
This is the first we’ve heard of any potential remastered re-releases of classic Blizzard games.
