Samesies. I love the solo, wandering, exploring, aspects of these sorts of games. Also, because my gaming time is so varied in both duration and frequency, I feel bad committing to a team based challenge. Hate the idea of being that guy who lets the team down cos he cant get online at the right time.
That said, I do see the appeal of playing with others in The Division. I tried the rescue the doctor from Madison Square Gardens twice - once solo, and again with another player using the matchmaking system. 2nd time was a lot easier, quicker, and certainly more "fun", but I think a lot depends on the other players you get paired with. I was lucky, the other player and I seemed to work pretty well together. I think it could be pretty good with others you know. (Incidentally, as I was logging off last night I noticed map indicators for Friends show up pretty clearly. Saw Beo and Malice were about when I was leaving.
On that point:
and I also can like to be a agent of the division. The UPlay me is the same as the other me's: GregRedd.
This I struggled a bit with. I've started the game 3 times now, and each time have gotten the black screen with audio only. Thank you again to those who made the Alt-Enter tip. Each time, I've gone to the settings, applied the full screen option and on going back in have the same black screen issue, so ended up playing in Borderless Windowed.
I just got an email for this game and seeing it made me want to go home and play the game so bad! Stupid work. Gaming is more important!! Who needs food or anything, amirite?
So the automatch feature groups you up with people in the DZ, who you can't actually play with. It grouped me up with ouboet but because we're different levels we couldn't join each other's instances.
From the UbiBlog. Interestingly, they don't actually quote a specfic number there.Quote:
The Division is breaking records. Ubisoft announced today that its third-person action-RPG has sold more copies in its first 24 hours than any game in Ubisoft’s history. Total digital full game sales of The Division also set new, single-day company records across PC, Xbox One, PS4.
You actually can!
There's a mismatch setting I think in the "group" screen that will allow you to join higher players games. The system does it it's matchmaking to stop lower level people getting pooned.
I think you can join up, you just can't join down. So get the higher leveled person to start the group.
Edit: Found it.

Go into Player Management.select Join DZ Player Bracket of your Buddy
I think lower level players can only join higher level players and not the other way around. The player with the lower level should be able to join the higher rank player's party and under group management be able to click "Join DZ instance" (Not 100% sure what the actual wording is).
Or... i'm completely wrong and it doesn't work like that at all :p
Edit: BeoTeK beat me to it LOL
Well that makes sense, I guess. It would have been nice if the game told me that. I just find it weird that automatch matched me up with a player of a lower level. You'd expect it to look for players at the same level.
Anyway, I'm level 20 now. I find that if you do all the quests in an area you out-level the area pretty fast. You might even end up leveling past the next area too.
Can't find any details on the internet about it, but I have to download a 650MB update.
You can find it in the game news section for the division in the launcher.Quote:
At 6:30 PM CET (12:30 PM EST / 9:30 AM PST), we will deploy a client update that includes the following change:
Fixed an issue where the game would not offer the expected language options when it was obtained as part of a bundle promotion.
This update will not require a server downtime, and the patch size is 600Mb.
The Division Team
The more i play this game the more i love it. Its some awesome running around activating echos, looking at graffiti and listening to enemy NPC talking about random shizz
Been playing through quite a bit of the story. Almost level 16 now. Doing all story missions solo on the hard difficulty. DPS is pushing 6k and HP is currently on 11k. Soloing 2 gold elite enemies is fucking tough when the map is tight.
Crafted my first purple item today as well. Ridiculous damage.
play +- 1h30 on Wed night, then last night uplay wanted to download 27gb :(
deleted the download folder this morning, restarted uplay and it is just the 650mb download.
ps: I am sure as hell not switching my pc off today, as I want to play tonight with no issues
I'm starting to enjoy the game more than i thought i would. Lost track of time while running through the city just to scavenge materials. Speaking of, does anyone know what the respawn timers are for some of the materials? like the tool boxes close to your base.

I found the DZ last night, want to venture in there tonight!
If you guys didn't know, if you go a safe house and speak to the JTF officer and view the situation board, it'll add a whole bunch of side missions and objectives to your map.
Complete those and go back to the safe house and you'll be rewarded with an item/blue item blueprints and a lot of XP.
Ek het aanvanklik alles dismantle maar iewers gelees die credits boost is baie useful aan die begin. Het 'n paar key items gekoop en die verskil in DPS en ander stats is crazy.
By the way, I'm level 17 now. 12k DPS on smg, about 16k health, ability power is lagging behind at about 2 or 3k. What are / were your stats at this level? Just to get an idea of what I'll be up against in the DZ. So far it's going pretty well, only been killed when I'm outnumbered.
Yeah I've actually been neglecting my safe houses. need to get around to unlocking those
ja ek moet nog die credit boost perk kry. spaar nou vir 'n barracks
op die oomblik spandeer ek meeste van my credits op weapon paint :D
For PC users:
All those candy bars, energy drinks and waters you pick up are extremely useful.
To use them hold V and move your mouse to select the item you want to use. They all provide different boosts, and make some fights a lot easier.
Tried the Lincoln Tunnel mission and kept getting taken out by the 2 snipers on the ledge above the tunnel entrance. Think I managed to kill one of them just once. Any suggestions on a better approach to get into the tunnel?
