17 Minutes of Mass Effect Andromeda: Peebee's Loyalty Mission Gameplay (4K 60fps) - IGN First
Quote:
Join us as we accompany Peebee on her loyalty mission in Mass Effect Andromeda. This footage has been edited to avoid spoilers.
Why do the facial animations look so damn weird? I have seen numerous videos now where all the facial animations just look off, especially for the female lead.
Also, ME:A is rated PEGI 16, but the dialogue sounds like the game is rated PEGI 8 or something. I'm not saying they should throw expletives all over the place, but it just sounds so toned down. I don't know.
I was thinking, perhaps I was wrong not to pre-order, but I think I'll rather wait. Something just feels off.
We were talking about the same thing at work. The characters look freaken weird. They look so... stylised and not in a good way. Especially when you compare the characters in Andromeda to those in Inquisition. Inquisition's characters looked much more real and convincing. Hopefully I'll get used to it.
Very, very cool! Mass Effect Andromeda: Exploration and Discovery Trailer...

I'm going to restrain myself and wait just a little while for release and bug fixes, Plus I want to see GTX 960 benchmarks It might be time to sell a kidney and get a GPU upgrade
I was expecting more from the character creator.

phew, glad i didn't pull the trigger on that pre-order. It's starting to sound like the old Bioware quality is gone or they had their B-team work on it.
I might wait for a bargain bin special like I did with DA:I, depending on how reviews turn out next week.
There's this article from Kotaku that seems quite positive I reckon:

Well I'm watching some live (or recordings of) streams cos I don't care for spoilers but I am curious to see how or what it is.
I've started downloading the trial (I've got Origin Access at the moment) and so once the 43GB!!!!! has downloaded and I get a chance to play through the given 10hrs I'll post my impressions here.
Just a reminder... No spoilers please!
:D
Hmmmm.....could take a couple of hours to download the trial, then. [My, how they have grown!]
I'm wondering if there's any way to bypass that, like you can on PC. I own the digital version so I hope so.
Otherwise I guess I'll just save my trial. I won't get more than 10 hours to play on Tuesday and Wednesday anyway, so it will be as if I got the game on Tuesday.
Still, it's shitty that publishers are all starting to move to global releases and then you've got EA, who's still stuck in the past.
Oh people are still gonna go rush out and buy this! Hahahaaaa!
That includes me!
I can ignore the glitches, but some of the dialog with the facial expressions is just cringy.
This isn't the first review to state it like this, so it seems to be DA:I in space in a lot of ways, which can be good or bad based on how you felt about DA:I.
Personally, I was one of those people who spent 15 hours in Hinterlands and got bored of the game (I know, my own fault). So maybe there is hope.
I would really like them to fix/change the facial animations though; this is an RPG after all and immersion is the name of the game. Bad human facial animations break that immersion.
