Have you seen elfen lied yet...?

Another nice thing about subs is that they sometimes explain little things to you, like "in japan its believed that ghosts have no feet, this is why ichigo thought ryu was a ghost"
fastest subs i've read so far has to be puni puni poemi. the longest ones, definitely gits.
I love anime. My favourite series so far are Evangelion, Elfen Lied and Triple Xholic. I think I tend to enjoy the more 'mature' outings of anime. I'm also in love with movies like Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. Hayao Miyazaki has one beast of an imagination.
If you don't like Anime do not post here :p
I love it.
dislike - a lot - real comics = dc/marvel.
dont really like anime but saw a bit of Afro Samurai and want to check out the rest...looks pretty good.
You know it took me a while to find decent anime. There is loads of anime and allot of it is kak. Just need to scratch the surface of the junk.
What's not to like about anime? The writers often have the most unusual imaginations and cartoons give them so much freedom of expression.
I love anime but it has to be more of the older marketed anime such as Ninja scroll/akira/ghost in the shell and such i really cant handle these anime where something stupid happens and his head becomes the size of a house
I come to this thread a bit late - but I haven't been browsing the forums as much lately.
Short answer - yes ... I like it.
Long answer - Anime, pretty much since I discovered it, has become one of my biggest hobbies and passions. I blog about it, I watch it, I draw, I collect the figurines (slowly, because they're so damned expensive) - and by extension, I've gained my fascination with the Japanese culture and language.
You should actually have put a poll up when you created the thread, OP.
Love it...Oh yeah One Piece and Naruto FTW(Watch bleach aswell, but ashamed to mention it)!
Love it. Learning Japanese is fun, too.
Nice to hear everyone's opinions etc. Shadowfox, you are really into it, it seems. Wow.
The sub-title thing and foreign language is a killer. I'm sure if you can understand Japanese it must be pretty cool watching the original, but if you can't, then reading sub-titles the whole time sucks and the voice over is not the same.
Love it! Used to watch it religiously back in the day (the likes of Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Vision of Escafloune) then became inactive for about 3 years. Getting back into it now - started watching Code Geass/Fairy Tail/Kaichou wa Maid-sama last week..really digging them thus far.
On that note, any recommendations on new anime that is out?
Its a like from me.
Death note and Neon Genesis are my all time favourites
Hunter X Hunter is also a good anime or Berserk
Hehe ... I'll be honest - I've seen ENTIRE arguments and flame-wars break out about the topic.
Myself - I'm something of a purist - I really, really prefer watching it in Japanese. Sadly, my Japanese is very patchy, so I still need the subs in order to fully understand what is going on. On the flip-side - if the subs are badly written/translated, I DO notice it, and it drives me absolutely nuts.
A very good example here is Kiddy Grade - keep in mind I have the originals - and Funimation did an absolutely shoddy job on the translation - I can't believe they didn't get someone to double check. It was, in short, horrendous. So those with a total lack of knowledge of Japanese will be able to watch the show happily, secure in the knowledge that "professionals" took care of the translations - for myself, it spurs me on to expand on my knowledge so the day I can switch the subs off come that much sooner.
All that being said, Kiddy Grade is one of the series I've come across where the English voice-overs are passable (meaning I don't want to repeatedly stab myself in the ear - as was the case with Negima!) In the end though, it's still not the same.
I'm in two minds about anime. I went through a phase where I really loved it, but then I started noticing that characters looked very similar and in almost every setting, i.e. if it was in the year 3000 or year 1, the plots would find a way to have very similar settings. And then they keep adding mystical shit into it which is fine for one or two but eventually got annoying.
absolutely love!
anime beats everything for me! even gaming!
Also lost interest in anime with all the looonnnggg drawn out series that gained popularity. Then I got hold of a few really good, short series (Ga Rei Zero being the best of them) and I've been rekindling my interest
:D
dislike .
I like it. Although it would`nt mind getting more stuff to watch.
I loved the Cowboy Bebop series and busy watching some stuff I got
recently. Only problem is the original voices are better than the dubbed
ones but that means reading subtitles like mad...
i am and forever will be a big anime fen it has so many different types you can alleys get what you like
BIG fan 4 life!!! Shippuden & Bleach the best. http://www.newshost.za.net/pic/smilies/cool.gif
I have 50+ complete anime shows and growing steady.
All in Japanese with subtitles, trust me Japanese versions are better and you learn the language quite quickly.
I never used to watch anime because all I could ever get was translated stuff and it irritated the hell out of me, then I got Bleach from a friend and watched it, I was hooked.
I moved on to others like Naruto and Shippuuden (The best), Death Note, Ghost hunt (Creepy, not scary), Higurashi No Naku Koru Ni (OMG) and lots more.
So I love anime.
Im liking the new highschool of the dead.
I started watching Fairy Tail, very nice show.
Watch it if you have the time!
There's so much crap out there, I'm tempted to say no. In the end though, it's the few gems that you find, that make you like the whole genre. I definitely can't say the same for Series. Haven't seen a series that piques my interest since BSG :wtf:
.........bsg....?
battlestar galactica
