Started playing a little 2v2 last night, alot more relaxed gameplay and alot more fun than 1v1 for me. Will start playing 1v1 when i got the hang of protos
I've gotten pretty good at 1v1 but I just prefer 2v2 so much more. I had some douchebag build absolutely nothing but both of them sent all their pylons to attack me. Obviously when I lifted off and my 2v2 partner came with zerglings they were utterly screwed but it was possibly the stupidest strategy I've ever seen.
On a side note I haven't noticed much of any rushing lately. I had one dude try bunker rush me but that was just fail...and that's more or less all in my last ~15 games.
This made some very interesting reading, because when I first installed SC2 I
actually wondered about the long term effect of being able to record the match
and actually watch the opposition step by step and I am almost sure it can turn
out very repetitive gamers... I mean I actually learned quick what some of my
mistakes/weak points are
I played some more SC2 over the weekend to try and change my mind on the game. Even though winning is awesome, you end up losing a lot easier due to other teamies who simply cannot play and the other side that know how to play TOO well and cheese up the whole match.
There is NO doubt however that this game is flippen repetitive - every match is really basically the same. I've played some Bad Company 2 as well and that is MUCH more varied. I agree it's a different genre, but even comparing the game to something like DotA just shows that SC2 is not very varied in its gameplay at all - Sure it takes a crud-load skill to play well and I give credit to gamers that are in the platinum league and up - but it's NOT an entertaining game in terms of variation - and that's what I want in a multiplayer game.
Why the attitude guys? He doesn't like the game, and that's how he feels about it. I can understand it because I myself am starting to get a bit annoyed with the cheap wins some of these okes get instead of playing a nice, competitive 1v1.
Someone I know also quit SC II because of this, and he was one of the first guys to get this game and love it. It IS really stupid to cheese, but unfortunately that's just how it is and if you don't like it, don't play it, right? That's what Neo wants to do so grant him that.
Well hopefully the balance patch will curb the cheese tactics for a while :)
Define cheese? Is teching to thors "cheese"? Is using zerlings early "cheese"? Using chronoboost is "cheese"? So in your opinion what is a competitive game then? There are strategies, and then there are counters. Just because some players are seriously lacking in intellect doesn't make the game stupid or anti competitive or even repetitive.
