As per topic title. Do any of you guys/girls know when we're supposed to get the Apple iPad in South Africa? I was under the impression it was supposed to launch in September but it's still nowhere to be found :(

Not Sure but its retailing at bout R9K when it does land. I might pick one up Dec when i go to europe since its R3K cheaper there for the Wifi 65Gig model.Quote:

I dunno which Model, since the SA Apple Store doesn't even have it listed. Thing that is currently making me second guess my decision is that there are bound to be an influx of Slate devices soon. HP are working on one, as is Google and Samsung's Galaxy Tab is also due out soon. The Ipad also has a few glaring shortcomings, no flash support, Itunes (shudders) and no camera. I love the Idea of the Ipad but dunno if i should wait and see what my beloved google brings to the party or if i should, for once, bite the bullet and go with apple.Quote:

I love comics but they are hard to find in SA and when you do find them what do you do with 20 000 comic books? Even regular books, I love reading but they take up so much space. The idea of sitting on the couch or in bed with one of these:

Im keeping an open mind and if google or HP lauch a similar device pre-xmas I will rather look into one of them.
