It involves a couple of things, but you can break it into two over-arching categories, namely:

Not a lot of laws which directly apply, but there is some stuff on cybercrime, bandwidth, licensing, etc. Generally it's either administrative or commercial in nature.
2. Research into how the use of computers and the internet affect the law
Basically, how do we adapt legally to modern technology, i.e. jurisdiction for internet conduct, electronic contracting, digitised evidence, software piracy, privacy, etc.
That's it, in a nutshell.
