Yes, I understand that part completely.
Hope it goes well and it takes off for you guys.

What the mind can conceive, it can achieve.
Sigh. Please people, don't say things when you aren't certain.
And I know you aren't certain since you're wrong :P
Latency is the one and only proper term for the round-trip time it
takes data to travel to its destination. Lag = Layman's term for latency.
Ping originates from the unix days where it was a command you could use
to measure latency by sending ICMP packets. Gamers tend to refer to ping
as though it were latency, this is because most of them are not engineers. (IT is not engineering)
Now, to my point, please don't quote latencies to local servers. Even a retarded
monkey can figure out that you'd get a sub 100ms latency to a local server.
Nobody cares about local servers, if you can get 80ms to a server in the UK then
I'll be impressed. The slow-down occurs when the local ISPs hand over the data at the
submarine cable exchange, it gets buffered and the whole thing is a bottle-neck mess.
Plus if you've ever done a varsity course in physics you'll naturally notice that the speed
of light is also a limiting factor over such distances. NO wireless technology is better than wired. Ever, ever.
There is inherently more dropped packets with wireless technology, increasing latency.
Oh and btw, a server hosts a realm. I've never seen a WoW realm with 450 000 players on - thats
just ridiculous.
Holy crap did you just copy and paste that or are you a machine....
This is also a very old threat just so you know.

Lol sorry, years of lectures tend to do that to you...
Actually I'm trying to track down an ISP that has the lowest possible latency.
Google spat this thread out at me and I was so overjoyed at getting a hit for "low latency"
in a thread that sounded plausible. Then I saw the 3G... I saw the wildly flailing inaccuracies...
And I wept. :P
What do you want to play that you need low latency for?
So far the best account I had for wow is a semi-shaped 512 Data account from Axxess. But there is an article here somewhere about isp and latency just do a search on the forum.

WoW of courseMy arena rating has gotten about as good as I think it can get
with a 450ms latency (at best) and to be honest I'm tired of having to pop my
cooldowns ahead of time to compensate - I'm not a friggin jedi.
I saw a related thread but most of them tend to be badly outdated. I need somebody
that I can actually go call now and ask them to set me up. I think the two major
providers in SA are IS and SAIX, but I honestly don't know nor do I know if they even sell
to the average Joe or whether they have something thats fast enough for me to be interested.
Have you checked out this section yet?

Or start a new threat and ask what is the best isp connection for wow at the realm(server) you are playing.

Just to put this out there: What would you guys think if MTN followed suite with this and offered the same service? Better yet, what would you like as a service, similar to this, from MTN?
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.
That would be interesting, think about it we got wage busy getting rank servers we got igame we got these guys and sgs. So what the hell 4 places to get servers local great. Maybe add a direct to drive (steam) for use local guys then we can use local bandwidth to get games. With a few pay options like eft that would be win for me, since I don't have a credit card.
Yes I now about the happenings of the uncapped and soon we won't need local only but still.
Now we need more sa gamers![]()
