I tempted to put this in my sig =)

Anyway, microstutter and the lag you are getting Plassie I normally get after a GFX hardware/driver change. Most of the time I find its the default settings for the driver & clock speeds somehow getting a bit stuffed. I swap cards quite frequently (like a couple times a month), so its a problem that I see quite frequently, especially when swapping from ATI to Nvidia and vice versa.

This should fix it (it always does for me):

    1. Uninstall all ATI/Nvidia drivers / software from Control Panel.
    2. Nuke em with Driver Sweeper!
    3. Reboot.
    4. Re-install latest Catalyst driver.
    5. Reboot.
    6. Open Cataclyst Control Center -> ATI Overdrive -> Unlock
    7. Defaults.
    8. Apply.
    9. Game on.

I don't have a 6xxx card yet (waiting for the X2 variants), so it very well could be something messed with the card or 6xxx drivers but I doubt it.

    Hey Boys and Girls

I found a possible fix for COD Black Ops and in all honesty it worked for me...

A while ago I was having major lag issues and all that with Blops and this has been on going even after all the updates released and we were told that those would fix the issues, which in my case didnt work... So I posted up a problem regarding my PC freezing up during some games and not all the time only on the odd occasion. I found out my RAM had eventually given in and packed up and when I put in Kingston 2800 ram 3gigs, I played Blops last nite for the first time in about 2 months after my PC started giving me hell and I didnt have a single lag spike or ping spike... I was like ZOMG!!!

Could anyone else detest against this or could it be possible that it's the make of Ram used that could have caused these issues to start with??

Blackops lags cause it's incompatible with my mitsumi stiffy drive. I upgraded to a Sony stiffy drive and my lag dissapeared.

    Also much improved hitreg.

Well there is a mention of RAM and ATI Card conflicts, but nothing about games lagging and all that...

Can't be, as that was posted on 24 Feb 2009, before the days of COD Blops.

2nd, the mobo in the thread title is an AMD board and he sasy he is running an intel chip.

    3rd, you don't have a ATI 38x0 displaycard.
