Current Best Choice for Cell Phone

Hi Guys

IMO Gamers knows what the best phone out there is at the moment, so I'm posting the question to you...

I'm due for an upgrade soon, what phone is the best to get. Taking Applications, OS, Connectivity, Battery Life etc into consideration.

Currently my thoughts are between:
iPhone 4 (Lowest on list)
HTC Desire Z (If available by then)
Black Berry Torch
Samsung Galaxy

Please don't slander phones here I want to know how everybody is experiencing said phones and the pros and cons of the phones.

Why is the Iphone 4 on the lower end of the list?

I would Say either the Iphone, The Galaxy or the new Samsung Nexus S.

I heard more complaints around iPhone in general than the other phones. But i am open to be convinced.

IPHONE IMO 3GS or 4 ! Applications, OS, Connectivity, Battery Life etc into consideration.

Applications - The Most available (have u seen all the schitte on the itunes store)
OS - is ok , ios 4 is pretty good imo
connectivity - okish, you have, 3g, edge, wifi etc.
If you dont use it as a touchscreen gaming machine, then yes longer than a day.

Dont let it fall, replacing a screen cost an arm, a leg and a testicle !

I think its called Google Nexus S but its made by samsung.

I don't have a Iphone, I am a bit of an android fanboy. I have heard many good things about the Iphone though and the demo models i've played with have been of great build quality and a pretty straight forward interface.

Personally I would go for the iPhone 4.

Got the 3G currently and love it.

I would also go for the iphone 4, 2 of my mates have got 1 and it's absolutely insane!

iPhone 4, no contest:

1. Almost 99% of bought apps worldwide are from the App Store. Plus, there are a shitload of new ones every month, not to mention the amount of big developer support (e.g. Eidos, Gameloft, iD, Chillingo, etc.).

2. iOS is still the slickest and most responsive OS I've used. The Galaxy S isn't bad though but it still feels sluggish after cruising along on an iPhone 4.

3. iPhone 4 has the highest spec battery life, and I can confirm from personal usage that it's a definite upgrade from the 3GS.

4. Nothing comes close to the Retina display. The Galaxy S tries hard in this department, and sure the contrast ratio is quite good, but the colours are ridiculously over-saturated and the resolution is visibly inferior.

I know I sound like a fanboy here but remember that all the above points are facts, not opinions

I'm also up for an upgrade in two weeks and looking at mostly the same phones: iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy S and Sony Ericcson Xperia X10.

Go check on GSM arena, there is a pretty cool comparison between the Galaxy and the iPhone. After reading through that I am rather leaning towards the Galaxy. iPhone is definitely out for me purely because of iTunes, I despise iTunes and I will never ever in my whole life use it again if I can help it.

I see Rustpuppet says the iPhone's screen is better, but that gsm arena comparison disagrees. According to them the Samsung's Super AMOLED beats it. Also the Samsung has support for DivX and Xvid which I don't think the iPhone does. The Samsung also beat the iPhone in the music department, which to me is the most important thing I'm looking for in a new phone. The fact that you can just plug it into any USB port and copy songs over is also a big win for me, like I said, I DESPISE iTunes.

I am so glad to hear i am not the only one. God i hate Itunes, it is the one thing stopping me from going Iphone.
