I've never known Blizzard to be a greedy company but I find this insanely disappointing. Maybe it's Activision, but you can't do shit like this.

Read the article again guys. It's not Blizzard pulling the strings ... it's Activision doing what they do best - being anti-gaming-community tards. I know the author penned the letter for Blizzard's attention ... but I'm willing to lay bets that Activision is standing behind Blizzard, shouting "WE DON'T LIKE WHERE THIS IS GOING!!"
The IP belongs to Blizzard, sure enough ... but, well ... we saw how well that worked for Infinity Ward.

So Blizzard had an issue with the name of the mod, and not the mod itself.
And now the bloke's got himself an oppurtunity to work at Riot Games - how epic is that. I honestly think creating games is more about passion than skill. Skills are needed, obviously, but if you don't really care about what you create it'll never be great.
I think they maybe stopped this because they are developing something themselves that would rivel this.
Doubtful. Blizzard has already stated that their new MMO is based on a new IP and not one of their existing IP's.
