unfortunately many gamers fail to understand what minimum means. Minimum does not mean med/low or medium settings but lowest, low as you can go, capiche?

Crysis got crapped on for releasing a game who's engine at optimal settings would not run on 99% of PCs available at the time. They were accused of poor optimization but nobody else could even come close to getting that kind of quality to run on 99% of PCs anyway. They deliberately made the game that way. Future proofing if you will. If they had reduced optimal quality, then what was medium settings in the original would have become highest and nobody would have complained because "hey look everything is smooth on the highest settings" but the actual graphics quality would have stayed exactly the same.
