Doesn't sound too crazy to me, you get 3x the experience when you use the Recruit-a-friend option. I've experienced it and it's awesome. You also have the option to grant lvls to your friend and so if you have a lvl 60 toon you can grant lvls to your buddy until he's 60 in a matter of mins (right click portrait, grant lvl).

    Pretty much this.

What I did was level the toons via questing to level 8. From there multibox on my pc. My 80 DK and our 2 toons that are linked. Just pull everything in instances and kill. Went to RFC at 8. Level'd to about 15.Then SFK from 15 - 20. Then go SM at 20 to about 45. From there was a problem, not many power level friendly instances available. So we went to ZF til about 50 I think it was. Then from 50 - 55 leveld in BRD. Then 55 - 60 went to Scholo or Strat.

You really fly through the levels with triple XP + group XP. So what I did sometimes was sell boosts for 5g per run :P. For some reason you get more XP if you have scrubs with you if you decide to do what I did

I dont bother with grouping for quests at low lvl unless im playing with a buddy. Even at 80 I dont bother unless there's a reward worth grouping for which is rare.

For me, it depends on the difficulty of the quest. I like completing an entire questline, but if the it's a group quest or difficult quest, I'm not above waiting until it's green or gray before completing it.

Some group quests are solo-able with the right class. I've was able to solo the last quest of the Draenei in BloodMyst with a l21 Shaman, and it was only due to healing and water shield. I am also able to do 3-man l80 quests with my druid by just tanking it out with bear. It does help that I'm cat-specced, because it does include some tanking talents.

I will admit that doing those same quests with a rogue or mage or warrior will not be nearly as easy, due to the lack of self-healing.

I do agree that group quests are a pain. Even in Icecrown it's sometimes difficult to get a group together for a quest.

Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of the game?

Not when you've been playing for as long as I have and just want your toons leveled asap. I couldn't be bothered questing from 1 - 60. It's the same old grind quest over and over. Get's boring and tedious. If you're a new player then yes it defeats the object. But I am not a new player

I love my Earth Elemental Totem It allows me to solo most group quests.
