The top video game character is a plumber.
Mario deserves the spot, it's just an interesting observation. Of all the games ever created, the top video game character is a plumber. Not a spy, or a fighter or a soldier. A plumber.
I hope all the plumbers out there are proud of the fact.

One of my all time fav = Kane, from Legacy of Kane - Blood Omen > Defiance
Maybe also Agent 47 (Hitman) lol, but he doesnt have much of a personality... so err, maybe

I dunno, I can't see how Mario is the best game character ever.
My favourites are: Geralt of Rivia, The Duke, Kain and Raziel, Ezio Auditore and many more.
I liked james from silent hill 2.
