Microsoft rumours of motion controller for Xbox360
"Rumor has it that the suggestion by Microsoft that they, too, were exploring motion controller technology which they would deliver for the Xbox 360 at some point in the future looks to be finally unveiled at E3 in June.
Our moles whisper to us that it will be a modified version of the ZCam that will be used by Microsoft to deliver such new technology to the Xbox 360. While some photos have been circulating showing something that looks to be a motion controller for the Xbox 360, our underground dwellers tell us that the photo has got it all wrong.
The ZCam that will be used will offer full body motion capture technology as well as more detailed controlling. The ZCam offers a variety of interesting features that developer 3DV could offer in a packaged Xbox 360 version that would be quite different from what we have seen motion type controllers capable of in the past. The fine figure gestures, full body tracking and gesture control could deliver an edge over what we have seen before.
One additional feature of note is the ability of the ZCam to be able to capture facial depth features and build a 3D image using a human face as an object, which could be an interesting addition to building your Xbox 360 Avatars.
As with everything like this in the console space, the software will make the difference. Microsoft, of course, knows this and you can be assured that they are working on both the engineering and software to produce something slick and unique. We have also been hearing some rumors of talks with third party developers, but we know of no takers that are willing to discuss their involvement in the production of a product with such support.
We think you will hear about it at E3 only if Microsoft believes that their software surrounding it is ready to go. Otherwise, they might leave it on the back burner, but we have to believe that Microsoft has been working with 3DV to get things in order and deliver a version of the ZCam for the Xbox 360 at a price that consumers are willing to pay with software that is compelling enough to make it different."

i just wish that they had done that sooner and I also wish it could be available for PS3.... but i wonder if they have considered looking at what the Wii might do coz they already have motion remote controls... do you think that they might just up their game a little???
