I'd like to add one more to those two: Obsidian (even with all the bugs). If I could only play games by those three developers for the rest of my life, I would die a very happy gamer.

Bioware by far. Because they're awesome.
Bungie - their level of polish is nearly unrivaled. Every FPS should look to Bungie for how to make a working Multiplayer component and how to present stats online.
Valve, although they lose one point for everyday I don't hear what is happening with HL2 Episode 3.

It's a difficult poll because... well, I don't have one single favourite developer. Obsidian, BioWare, CD Projekt RED and Piranha Bytes are my favourite developers. *shrug*

CDProjekt RED are the most awesome developers in the world, you can see they really care about their fans. Also, they developed The Witcher, which is the best game in the world.
A poll like this is impossible to get "right".
