70% of people think piracy is socially acceptable

This a dead horse getting flogged repeatedly, people should just let it go now.

Piracy will never stop and as humanity becomes more reliant on technology so will piracy increase. Which is sad really :(.

It is "socially acceptable" due to the parasites wanting everything for free.

Most people are not good people. Given the opportunity to commit a petty crime and get away with it (piracy), they will jump at it. It's also easy and IS "socially acceptable", the amount of piracy at big LANs is pretty evident of this. Everyone knows its wrong, why care if NO ONE will do anything about it and everyone else is doing it?

If your against piracy, cold hard facts are, your in the minority. In RL I don't know anyone who is not a pirate, everyone kind of just does it and will openly discuss it.

People who want something and dont have the money for it , wont be happy with saying *sigh* I dont have the money for it and go along my merry little way. No. Sneaking into a cinema is the same as watching a movie you didnt pay for.
How do you equate how big or small the crime is ?
And how do you decide on the punishment ?

We want something , and if we dont have the money to PAY for it ? Do we leave it there ?

Heres my thought on the matter..
Instead of getting stinking rich from exuberant prices from 20 people , sell something for cheaper , to 100 people.

I cant afford PS3 games , 600/700/800 rand a game ?
I only own best seller copies , im broke and thats how I roll.

Any game publishers out there reading this ?
Cheaper = More sales !

I vote with my wallet , if a ps3 game costs over 400 rand I dont buy it.
I'll rather buy food.

And anyone who wants to tell me "If I can afford a ps3 , I can afford the games" I saved for 2 years before I bought it.

Poor people get bored too. :(

SAFACT is useless.
There is a south african website selling pirated PC games , Ive reported them over a year ago and the website is still up.
I wont name it here as I dont condone what their doing.
If a member of SAFACT wants to know the website name , PM me.
 
Piracy is good for one thing,keeping old games alive


oh yeah and giving you something new to play when your broke and don't have the money to buy a new game :p
