Although I believe Blizzard has a controlling share ... no idea how the deal was set up. But paying Blizzard anything means I'm putting money in Kotick's pockets ... I find the idea repelling. So no Diablo III for me.
With regards to the current IW being able to push the franchise ... I'm not so sure. Any mass exodus from a studio, especially when it loses staff that was completely central to the development of a particular title tends to take a great deal of wind out of the sails. And at the moment, IW is being headed by people Kotick put in place, which means they're going to be dancing to whatever tune he chooses to sing.
My memory's a bit fuzzy, but I seem to remember a major studio losing a big bunch of staff in a similar fashion - and they just never amounted to anything after that. Anyone else remember?
