I recently got a ds lite bundle at the giveaway price of R600,
and am rocking mario kart online using my wifi.
This is huge for me as i was getting tired of gaming.
I Love and always will love Nintendo but at that price point i would far rather pay the extra for a PS3.
3DS is going to be very popular when the price of the hardware drops and Nintendo put their might behind excellent 'made for 3ds' first party games.
Not to mention all the third party support pledged for the 3ds.
As for NGP if Sony continue to give its handheld consoles watered down versions of console games(despite insanely powerful and sexy hardware), then it will suffer the same fate as the PSP in terms of sales.
The specs of NGP are impossible to match the already expensive DS in price and this could kill NGP before launch,unless they absorb losses as they did with first PS3.
