Ummm ... dude. Take a chill pill. Seriously. Or - play less violent games ... I just bet they're the cause of your outburst.
Just kidding.
Anyways - read the post again. The heading is slightly misleading - since the study covered the use of most technology - including checking e-mails, hanging on Facebook, watching movies and TV.
And .. I'm not entirely sure that insomnia is a crime ... if it is ... I'm in a crapload of trouble already.
But ... playing of games ... I can understand them saying it could affect your sleep. Unless you're the type that plays until you collapse at your keyboard, there are several factors at play when you play games - that have, y'know, been proven, scientifically.
First off, if you're playing games that are full of action, that you really enjoy, that channels your aggression into something other than assaulting people with a bat - there are, unless you're some kind of mutant - certain chemical reactions that take place in your brain - such as the release of endorphins, adrenalin and such. Things that pretty much wake you up, and make it tricky to fall back asleep.
Chaos's comment about RTS's (sorry, your name is too long) - also relates - unless you just zerg everything out of existence, your brain is all fired up and thinking strategy - and that activity doesn't just die the second you switch off your PC. You'll be replaying that game in your head for the next couple of hours. Probably dream about it too.
Maybe it doesn't happen to you ... as stated, everyone is a little different.
But nobody was blaming life's problems on gaming. Now ... go play something before you explode.
