Thanx fridge, I will add you. Even if you just listen to my rant, it will help already.
We ([DAC2]) just can't understand how we are in first def, when we are loosing almost all of our games. We are a new team and this is our first game, playing as a team... Would have been better if we were in the 2nd def.
NGL really needs to go the way of DGL in respect of one aspect - the timing of games. It's extremely frustrating to have to play on x day at y time, especially if you have a few guys in the team who work, and who oftentimes get caught by work and deadlines, forcing our teams to find a sub on short notice. Rather allow us to schedule our own games at our (and the opposing team's) convenience, within the week allocated for the game.
If that means NGL has to implement a booking system for the servers, then do so. It will make life a lot easier for everyone in the long run, believe me...
The difference between pizza and your opinion is that I asked for pizza.
It has been posted a couple of times that we do allow teams to move their games to days that suit them better. All your team has to do is get in contact with your opponents 24 hours before hand and let them know and agree on a day. Then just pop a mail to me and tell me that the game has been moved.
I am more in favor of NGL's proposed times, else you will have 10 people trying to schedule one game.
It takes longer for the 2 teams just to decide on a day and time, than it takes just to organize a sub...
My 2c.
*shrug*
It seems to work perfectly fine for the DGL league, and over the course of 5 or 6 legs we've never had an issue scheduling games. You just have to be a bit co-ordinated about it - i.e. have a meeting at the start of the leg where everyone makes clear the days and times on which they can play and then ONE person from the team arranges the matches with the other team.
And sure, while the more casual teams may be okay with organising a sub at short notice, for the more serious teams it's not cool at all. We've gone and spent time stratting our individual and team positions, and then practicing the strats. To then expect one of our subs to drop into any one of five positions on the team at short notice is unfair on the sub, and also reduces the chances of our team winning.
So yeah, it's not just a nice-to-have to have our entire core team playing.

Like i said there are a couple of teams who arrange their games on different days as per their requirements. But Green Orb you guys haven't pitched for a couple of games now.
My personal opinion is that the NGL schedules works for the teams and for us. The meeting before the season or leg starts ends up in 400 people all bitching about every single day in the week. So we said since no one can decide what they want in life we made the match days and if you need to schedule on different days then we do allow it.
Our team have had to forfeit a few games because 1) The timing didn't work for us at all - a lot of the guys, myself included, are still working at 7:30pm on week nights. 2) Connection issues on two games. Two of our guys had 400+ pings for no discernable reason. We gave them spare accounts on different ISPs and there was no improvement, so who knows.
I must admit, no-one in our team was aware you could reschedule to another day. If we re-register for the next leg, we'll try to reschedule the games to better suit us.
Incidentally, regarding the meeting I mentioned above - I didn't specify that it needs to happen on a clan level. It makes no sense for the league administrators to be involved in that, since as you mentioned, it would devolve into chaos.

Yep thats what usually happens with those things.
We are looking at better ways to broadcast messages to people so that everyone knows whats going on.
The second season will be a lot smoother i feel. We are after all checking during this season what is working and what can be refined.
