There aren't any benchmarks/review yet, so hard to say anything.

As the numbers are becoming more available, it's set to price at same (and.or slightly higher) than AMD's 6990.

AMD 6990 is beating it in performance.
GTX 590 is beating AMD in reduced power and sounds levels.

    So... pick your poison.

AMD 6990: Top performer, slightly more noisy.
GTX 590: Same-ish price, less performance, less noise/power-usage.

FYI: taken from benchmarks numbers, not live game tests.
I see Maplassie has narrowed down some in-game test numbers for us.

It should also be noted that running a beast like either of the two, without using multi-monitor setup etc = huge waste of money.

I think I will stand with my decision to go with the 6990.

I wanna go for the GTX590. Prefer Nvidia. Just seen a review on guru3d and its only slower the the 6990 on 2 games that they reviewed. Just wanna see pricing when they actually arrive.

So that means the 590 and the 6990 will be very similarly priced!

Just something I noticed with all the benchmarks; The GTX590 is supposed to be two GTX 580's on one board. However, I have two GTX580's and they kick the snot out of the single GTX590 numbers. So you have to wonder, are you really getting two GTX 580s on one board in terms of performance. Paying R7400 for one card is VERY close to what I paid for two GTX580s. Anyways, just a thought
My ignore list: growing too fast to keep updating.

Hmm, thanks for the heads up. I'm really in a hard place with deciding between this card and a 6990. I just don't know hey..I'm very keen to try out an Nvidia card for the first time in forever, but I don't know whether it's worth it! And I also don't know which card is more future proof.
