If it's pay to play then I think I'll stick to WoW

This is an excellent game. Cosmic Supremacy is a must-try for any 4x addicts in general or MOO/Galactic Civ players specifically. The game is deep, offering the same sort of strategic options as available in Master of Orion while allowing you to challenge many other players online (I am currently in a galaxy with 42 other players!). The game maps are also 3D, which is great. The player base is steadily growing. I had no trouble jumping into a 42 person galaxy just 3 days after I completed the tutorial. New galaxies start all the time... at least weekly. I highly recommend giving this a try. -Kadath

    Another one poster *lol*

Okay, so it's the first time I see this thread.

Anybody have any worthwhile (non spammy ) feedback before I bother downloading?

I know it's only 4 megs, but I'm thinking time wastage here

I wanted to take the time to invite you guys not only to come and check us out, but have a look at a Team Galaxy as well. We're starting one Friday, March 19th. If you want to find out what it's about, see the news about it here: Team Galaxy Info

Hope to see you there, and good luck!

FYI, it's not pay to play, though the option exists. There are no in-game differences between those that pay and those that don't. Paying grants benefits such as creating your own custom galaxies and related extras.

Well, I understand where you guys are coming from, looking at our single posts and deciding it's not worth investigating. With the world as full of spam as it is, I can't blame you for thinking so. Myself, I'm just another player, and obviously an avid fan. We don't have the resources for putting up flashy banner ads on all the gaming sites, and in fact I don't think we want to (I find them rather annoying). Instead, we've taken it upon ourselves to spread the word that we exist. If you guys wonder why no one from the 'general comunity' have made any remarks, perhaps they all think as you do and refuse to even look. That's alright really, this game isn't for everyone and I know it. But it is for some. Perhaps some of you that do have a lot of activity can come down and see and share yourself, at least that way others can hear about it from someone they trust. Just an idea. Honestly though, the entire game was designed and built by one person in his free time for about 8 years now. There's a lot of dedication here. We're not a mob money-hungry people looking for suckers, we're a group of friendly people that have found a great game and a great community and only want to share. Well, I do hope to see at least some you down there in any case. Good luck!

While it's true that the tutorial galaxy is a required feature (it's fairly quick and painless), there's nothing else to download really except updates every now and again. You do have to download a 'Galaxy Pass' when you want to to enter, but those are tiny little things that just log you in. The client itself is a small stand-alone program, but you never actually 'run' it. Joining and entering the galaxy is all done via the web-page.

One of the players (Stabby) made this quick video, showing off the galaxy map. It gives a good idea of how the graphic portion of the interface works.

Another of our players (jackjack) made this video. It's really cool, but it does feature content that isn't implemented yet. Still a great video though.
