I never watched Elfen Lied, I have simply absorbed the various opinions of people around me and from the internet, so I somewhat have formed my own opinion on it. I believe there can be a balance with violence and other forms non-social(?) norms in various forms of media, but finding the balance is key. When used correctly it can create great stories, albiet shocking but good non the less.
