It's been floating around anime news streams and forums for a while now, but Manga publishers have taken a much tougher stance with regards to scanlation sites - a number of them are starting to shut down - I'm not sure how much longer MangaFox is going to be around for either. They've already started restricting access to certain series based on demands from publishing houses.

While I agree with the stance in principle, I'm upset that this applies to all manga series, not just those that have been licensed - meaning that a number of rather excellent series effectively fall out of reach since they don't always get licensed.

MangaFox, AFAIK, are only taking series down in response to cease & desist letters from publishers - one or two other sites are looking into adopting a similar operation as Crunchyroll, in which they have license to publish manga online for a minimal fee.
