Shin Sekai is on another level, it does not need to give you a shock since all the pieces that are needed are already there, you just have to realise that the world they are living in is very real. Oscar Wilde once said "Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life" which rings so true to Shin Sekai. The whole time I watched I felt as if this is real, this can be our future, the world is fucked up and the utopia in which the characters are living is no different.

Which season? First season is okay, second season isn't too bad either - anything from the third season onwards is a load of bollocks, and you should avoid it.
