My Lineage II server could easily handle up to 1000 players online.
But it is a new server so currently low player counts

The only time we will "yank" an account, is if you use L2 Walker or similar cheats! (I have an instant notification if any player is cheating)

    In Lineage II you can:
    Dualbox.
    Powerlevel someone.
Have an account for each email address you use.
Leave your character in game in shopping mode when you exit...This way you can still earn adena (gold) for crafting or for selling/buying stuff.

and in my view, L2 beats WoW hands down!

Like I said with a link on mybb, it is because you used a proxy service. The same thing that power leveling and gold selling outfits use.

Yes Crowley, that is what I also said on my first post in this thread.

Although, I have not heard anything more from Blizzard, exploring other potential causes can't hurt.

I do not want to get perma-banned.

It's all things like that that make me weary of the game...powerleveling etc, as I enjoy playing through storylines etc.

Does Lineage II have an interesting storyline?

Lineage II certainly has a LONG very involved story line!

What we call 'powerlevelling' is when you are in a party with other players and where your level difference is less than 20, then you will be gaining more EXP than you would have done normally.

You can easily compare L2 with WoW, as I am not sure who copied who's ideas between the 2 . The graphics and animations in L2 are however much much better and more realistic than wow.

On low rate servers, you will need the services of Dwarfs to collect materials and recipes and they then craft your items for you. Up to level 40, most armours and weapons are readily available in shops, but after that up to level 85 you will certainly need Dwarfs!

Your 2 main types of Characters are Mystics and Fighters. In each of these classes, there are various options - Good & Evil.
Most youngsters tend to create Damage Dealers (Dark Mystics) as they are fast and hit quick and hard, but the more older player like myself likes to take his time and create fighters who can last longer in battle, or Support Classes (Good Mystics) who will buff you up and heal you. Support Classes are very hard to level up on their own, so power levelling is somewhat necessary for them.

When I start, I usually create a Dwarf Spoiler (they get more materials) and tag along a healer or buffer (dual boxing). When my Dwarf gets to level 25, I take the 'Sin Eater' quest which when activated, prevents him from levelling up. This then allows me to spend a few days collecting 1000's of materials from the same mobs, because if you don't your level will be too high and you might just miss out on an opportunity of collecting enough of what you need. You can also sell your excess materials, but I am a horder so I keep them all!!

You can then join a clan or create your own, make alliances with other clans and bid on an auction for a clan hall which gives you many benefits. Your next goal would be to try and siege a castle, which also gives you many benefits for your clan.

You can also kill Raid Bosses from which you can obtain rare or powerful items.

We also have a Team vs Team event where once signed up you kill other players without losing experience. The winning team then receives a reward which you can use to purchase accessories.

Other events are Capture the Flag, and Death Match where you have to be 'last man standing' to win a reward.

Custom events are also run by GM's, like hide and seek, pet races, or general in game quizzes, usually with nice prizes.

A nice thing about L2 is that it does not use up too much of your cap!
I also use Ventrilo as a clan voice chat client as it too uses little of your cap!
My game and Ventrilo are on 18 hours a day and I use up about 1 gig a month with these!!

Email me or pm me of you want more info or a copy of the Client.

Blizzard indicated that there are currently 20 000 players in South Africa ... excluding players on private servers ... if this was to increase to 40 000 they would then see at launching a server in SA

I love wow and will defiantly be one of the first to join a official server if it comes to Africa.... sigh... but for now I'll continue practicing on my private server it might not be a perfect blizz server but the ping is good it never drops me, and getting to meet local SA wow community is great.

How many South African's do you have on your illegal server? You don't know a thing about the "local SA wow community" as you put it. Go legal and join a SA guild then you will see what the SA wow community is really like.

Alright...... Based on terms and conditions.
When the Beta got released of wow, if used C# and a SQL database. IT HAD NO TERMS and CONDITIONS! Thus private servers were born. All files contained in hosting a server are legal....

    BUT!

The files that server needs are in the Official wow game itself. Map data, creature locations, and actions. Those are copywrited. So When they ask a private server to be shut down, they say.... We are using the our Own core with none of blizzards copywrited content. Boom! They safe...

Even if blizzard connected to a Prvserver they cant tell if the maps are theres.... Thats why those massive private servers with 10000 players are still going. They cant be shut down. the guys that did the first private servers got hired by blizzard....
    Back to what i Quoted-
    - Sa community is and SA community, wether illegal or legal.-

There are like over 4000 private servers of wow. ROughly.
And NO... I dont host one, i Play >>>Official<<<< Aion.
