That's not very convincing.
Add the following ?:
d) less $$$ for the company
e) we too lazy to write proper net code
f) no mp means no sharing of what could have been great adventure (ex. co-op dragon age)
g) (in case of id) we are known for our stellar mp net code, well we thought so since quake 3 arena, but sorry we going softies and staying with sp only. I mean we are now bethesda actually and they don't do sp >.<
I'll re-iterate. It is not just about whether or not SP is great without MP. Sure SP has it's strong points, but as Crzwaco said why not just add lan, well at least for co-op/d!match. That's what made the old hack-n-slash/fps great.
Nowadays it seems that one dev house is screaming NO to SP or NO to MP, mixed with FUCK we add MP we will have sucky SP. I can understand this from CDProjeckts point of view they are not a big dev house, but ID is known for bringing out something proper (ok well they used to be) in the MP realm. Now they are this irritating stop kakker dog, dodging the bullets and... well I don't <insert something here>.
Opinion:
In the end it seems that most people would just opt for being a cave nerd who never wants to share some adventure or experience with other players and that it seems breeds the thinking of MP is bad, especially in RPG games.
