Just the credit card requirement that annoys me still, wish you could buy credits or something with a normal bank transfer. It's always a bother when I want to buy a game on steam.

i like steam, a pity i have a 384 line so its a no go for me, but soon i will make use of it, soon!![]()
My friend has been downloading from Steam on his 384k line at around 45kbps...... He's doing TDU2 now which is around 15gb.
steam when it began was so bad, with our limited bandwidth, but i must admit that done a great job and i really enjoyed there december specials. Well done to steam for thinking ahead.
Steam definitely was ugly and a pain in the butt back in the day. I stopped playing CS:S because it really was such a hassle to get it to work back in the day. It's definitely matured into a very useful tool today!
It may have been ugly but at least it didn't randomly delete your game files back then. I have reinstalled Portal2 about 6 times since buying it because it simply deletes my files all the time. It may be my lack of decent internet but reallyI don't think I'll ever get around to downloading L4D1 or L4D2 again cuz I don't have them on disc or anything and it randomly decided to delete the game files before I knew that backing them up was a very good idea...
Haha, yeah I remember installing HL2 for the first time and going WTF at this POS software that Valve wanted to install on my machine. Plus the 30MB+ worth of launch day patches was NOT fun to download on dial-up!
But Steam is pretty awesome since they updated it with the new look, and I have a metric crapload of games bought on Steam now.
Signature goes where?
Steam was the beginning of the end of old style/home LAN games...
