Default How do they get away with it?

I was at bright water commons today for the food and wine fair and I was browsing the games shop in the flea market (not zaps) and had to ask myself how the hell these oaks get away with making money off selling pirated games....I mean it is ridiculous. They have all the latest titles for between R90 and R130. I just don’t get how they manage to stay open selling COPIED games. What really gets me is how bright water commons management allows these people to sell their copied wares. It is confusing.

But I think what really shocked me was that they are selling games like the Orange box that are only playable online with a legit CD key and they are all ONLINE games. So how does that work?

The mind boggles. Nobody ever said the idiots that buy these pirated games are intelligent. Why not report them to that piracy thing.

Yeah it really confuses me, I don’t care about people buying the games, I don’t blame them for paying R120 rather than R500 on a game - But I just can’t get how these guys get away with trading pirated goods to the public. It’s crazy.

I know exactly which store you are talking about. They have changed owners (and i assume the owners got kicked out ) like about 4 times. Right next door is a copied DVD shop too... very strange.

On one occasion I saw two policeman walk into the store, and basically walk out with two dustbin bags full of copied DVD's. At first i thought wow, thats pretty cool, they are closing them down. Next week I saw THE EXACT same thing. The cops obviously took it as a bribe so that they don't shut down the shop...

WEll the Pirated Game shop at montana crossing fleamarket, I have seen POLICEMEN in Uniform buying Chipped Playstation consoles and games there.

I saw this as the PC shop where I buy my modding stuff is right across from there.

I guess it just sums up our country and government. It's ok to sell / buy copied goods. Its ok to bribe and be corrupt.

Yeah its crazy stuff. Well they sell pirated Movies at the robots in JHB so im not surprised really.

I just feel sorry for the guys that buy it and then expect to play online and get errors because its copied etc (Assuming that the buyers dont know its copied)

I think if you buy pirated stuff (And you know its pirated if u only pay R120 for a current AAA title) you deserve to get errors and every other Game related head ache out there. These pirates are slowly eating away at the industry we all love.
