    from reviews i've read it seems that this one is a waiting-for-the-price-to-drop-or-for-a-steam-special game

    The problem with that is by then no-one will play the MP anymore and this game is basically MP only. The single player campaign is basically MP with bots

    the thing is that even if someone buys it now for the MP side (the only side) then given what the reviewers have said it'll probably be played for a month or two, then die....and imo R351 just doesn't seem worth it for that.

    I get what you're saying, but buying it when its cheap is useless if the MP is dead. You're best bet is to see if they patch it and if there is a local community that plays it frequently, then it'll be worth it regardless if its still at retail price or in the bargain bins.
