I know you didn't but saying something like "you guys are more concerned with your own pocket" makes it sound like we are being selfish whether it's was intentional or not.
Why should there be any common ground? My analogy still stands. If I can resell physical goods without anybody giving a shit I can sell games. I buy a game on the open market I can sell it on the open market. Common ground plain and simple so no need for any shenanigans.
He never said anybody did. You're misconstruing the context of his post.
its because of this mind set that thing are going the way they are. common ground between us as buyers and them as seller so that both sides benefit. so we dont pay to much and they get the value for the product that they worked on. im not talking about we should stand back and let them do what they want but there is just a better way then placing blame( we blame for high price they blame piracy... for example).![]()
ZOOOOOOOOM!!!!
DAAR VLIEG DIE VUURVLIEG!!!!
So next time I'll pirate a Lionhead game and buy the rest secondhand.
This is turning into the whole Napster vs Metallica thing
Nawwww.
Seeing as they consider second-hand worse than piracy; They have just given us free pass to pirate the rest of everything they ever make again.
Obviously by their own words, LionHead would rather have us pirate than buy second-hand. So pirating it is!
I'm off to find me a Fable3 torrent...
I still don't know why there should be common ground. Hardware maker has a right to make and sell a harddrive. I have a right to resell it. Common ground there plain and simple. I have never seen Seagate complain about second hand sales so why should a developer or publisher?
Can't see why there is a need for any discussion around this. Perhaps the problem lies with the concept of intellectual "property" and people wanting more and more things they are not entitled to. The whole copyright concept has been redefined so much already it's unrecognisable from its original inception.
