I guess the price drop is due to the Wii 2 coming out soon,

Great for Wii although I got one. I wish they drop the Xbox/PS3 and 3ds prices so I can get one
For R1599 its a no brainer. Thats like 2 or 3 new xbox games.
I looked at the red edition when it came out, but for R2700 it didn't seem worth it to me.
Interested to see what the Wii 2 brings.
I'd MUCH rather save that money up for the iPad 2!

And it's bringing console gaming ti a wider audience too
I know too many people that bought the Wii, and now its just collecting dust. :-(
I bought my Wii for R2399 a while ago. Bummer. Oh well, was not money wasted. Some good games on that console.
