Well I'm glad Paypal will be supported. Much more secure than sharing my credit card details We all know how the PS3 incident went.

The new dash will also hopefully prevent users from modifying the firmware to play copied games

Mine was a bit of a stuff up, got it on the 18th, installed... played and all was fine, then in the evening my console had a wobble and said it must be restarted... then it wanted to download it again. All has been fine since...

I feel so Beta right now :-)

I have not updated mine yet. I'm a bit skeptic about the new disc format as a minority of ppl complained that they got disc read errors. Apparently it only occurs on the much older consoles.

I read that if it does break your console, MS will replace it for you. But I also heard that it was for some other update, not the disk format one. Someone more clued up can probably give you better info though

This update doesn't cause that error, the previous update does

Ok. Yes the one article I read the guy reported the fault and MS told him he will get a brand new slim console asap. I'll keep my console unplugged for now. I don't have gold anymore so online doesn't matter to me right now.

If you have a console bought after 2009 you should be fine.
