Got it with my cellphone contract. Got it replaced cause it scratched discs and couldn't read them, I played it(the replacement) for 10 mins and its been sitting unplugged next to my ps3 ever since then(February).

Well someone had to have paid for it

I take it the cellphone provider gets a load of consoles at a reduced cost, meaning they still make a profit from your monthly contract fee They wouldn't offer them as free gifts unless all parties involved win (and you appear to win too).
