Plus considering the crazy amount of running/traveling you find in an RPG , imagine how tiresome that will be . I doubt any company will at this stage make a RPG/FPS/Typical game of any kind that is "exclusively" Kinect only. They will do what they did with Virtua Tennis 4 . You can play it with the controller and/OR Kinect . They have different game modes depending on which controller you use. Only these gimmicky games [dancing etc] will be Kinect Only.

Maybe they could have both controller and Kinect support, But How would you feel if they included kinect only achievements in a game with support for both inputs. I'm sure some would feel alienated

You're supposed to be able to play an RPG hours on end lol I don't think acting everything out is gona allow for that :P and If you are in shape to do this for hours.. you're probably not a gamer..

As stated before on this thread standing for hours at a time will be a problem. Even leaning forward slighty to walk forward will make your back hurt if you do it long enough. They could incorporate a chair into the kinect maybe, so you can sit with some type of controller and use it for movement and your [email protected] for interactions, and then stand for instance during combat.

I personally think that for roleplaying games, Kinect should be used as a supplement to the game experience. When it gets to in-game play, casting spells, and attacking... I think players either like it or they don't and if they do, probably not for prolonged periods of time. If it's something like an occasional gesture for some level of interaction in some cutscenes or dialog options in say Mass Effect, then I think it could work as another layer of immersion (e.g. doing a push gesture to make Shepard be mean and shove a hapless bloke).

oh no kinect is to be for fun additional way for non gamers to be introduced to gaming, rpg's are meant for less strenuous controlling, playing black ops for 11 hours on a kinect system would kill you the next day

Lol, i highly doubt you'd ever get a FPS like BLOPs on kinect. Plus you'd get smoked! Its bad enough with the lag like it is. But i reckon some RPGs would work for sure! The more slower, figure things out games etc.
