Console Prices for xbox and ps3

Hi guys,

I'm possibly in the market for a new console. I've had multiple xboxes due to RROD's but eachtime I bought a new console, the price would be lower. My DVD Drive is packing up on my xbox now so I started looking around at prices.

Cheapest I've been able to find is CNA @ R2499 for the new-look 4GB console. I assume my 120GB drive from my old console will not fit the new-look one

PS3 wise I haven't seen any for under R3400 o_O

Does anyone here know of any specials going on? Even an "old-look" xbox360 arcade would be fine at the moment. Thanks

Saw today in the newspaper xbox 360S 4GB going for R1999 and the 250GB bundles with kinect going for R3999, not sure what the 250GB standalone was going for.
PS3 was R2999 for the 160GB.

Store was Incredible Connection if I remember correctly.

No problem, you should also check out the official SA Xbox 360 forums, there are loads of bargains going on at the moment if you dont mind buying second hand. For example right now there is a guy selling 2 x xbox 360 consoles + 3 controller + headset + 3 Games for R2500. One console is the jasper model and the other is the new S model. Worth considering in my opinion.

xbox 360 4gb is going for 1999 at pnp hyper...very good price imo

I think you need to first decide which console you want and then find the bargain. Both have pros and cons but there are deals to be found - just be patient.

Yeah I saw this one... great price. Really makes me tempted to go and replace my xbox! I just might do it...

@Jared: Yeah, I need to decide, problem is my collection of xbox games, but I suppose I could sell those and get cheap 2nd hand ps3 games.

I think its worth it, you can always upgrade the HDD at a later stage. Thinks its around R800 or so now.
