Well. As stated in other articles concerning this issue - it is due to everything being packed into a single archive. Due to Steams distribution coupled with the way the game was set up, I guess there is no other alternative presently other than dl'ing the whole archive each time. Will be interesting to see how this is bridged. And as you say...capped accounts getting eaten alive.
I've always thought it to be a really bad idea to dump all your assets in a single archive.
Developers really to tend to bring up the ass-end of common sense sometimes...
Break up your large asset archives into smaller multiples.
Is it REALLY that hard to exercise some common sense into what you do?!

I really don't understand why there would be such a big difference between owning a digital and steam install? surely once you have the game installed they are patched the same? anyone wana explain this to me?
