Look at it this way
People with insane pc's will be able to run 360 games with relative ease i think thus saving them the purchase of a console
People with no money to afford an insane pc purchases the console (which is happening right now)
So in a way its a win loss situation for ms so i DOUBT this will happen, maybe tho MAYBE the games that you can purchase of Live will be playable on Win8 and not the actual physical media games.
Wasn't the same thing rumoured about vista or windows 7 ?

call me crazy but this seems VERY plausible!
My reasoning:
If you can control the Console market AND PC market
imagine that, this could very well be true!

Yeah and an XBOX remains a cheaper gaming solution than a PC. Most people also prefer having an XBOX with their TV and a PC in a separate room.
BUT just imagine it!
XBOX live and perhaps PC live, both run by mircosoft, cha ching!

pc live is already here, already run by ms and same with xlive. however pc live is kak compared to xlive or steam (something similar).
not really, as I remember same was rumoured for vista/win7 and we got xlive...
