I can say much for the Tomb Raider franchise as i dumped it after the 3rd installment on the PSone, and all subsequent releases havent gained my attention... As i was not that much into the franchise, i do accept that my naivety to the brand.
I do agree that both the games are awesome, as i did like Tomb Raider at the time and love uncharted at the moment. And will love Tomb Raider into the future.
No-one can compare Tomb Raider games if they havent played all of them. Yes TR 1-5 were pretty much the same gameplay wise. But then Angel of Darkness was very different, if you played it, you would know. Then Legend arrives, again very different than the games before. And then Anniversary and Underworld were similar to Legend. And although its not really a "Tomb Raider" game, Lara Croft: The Guardian of Light was again something new, with its isometric camera. It's not been the exact same formula from the beginning, they have mixed things up, only this time, they're changing the genre, it seems.
It's laughable but frustrating hearing people complain about games they haven't played.
I completely agree with you on this one. The TR series from its origins shaped gaming as we know it today and even if not all of them were that great the developers were at least bold enough to continually try out something new and innovative. It might not always have ended in success but hey, you can't win all the time.
Just wait and see all the sceptics eat their words when this game gets released.
I have seen the gameplay and if its as good as this and its not even close to release I can only wonder about the end product
