Fancy that, guess what I'm not buying any more.It is also now confirmed that EA’s next big release, Alice: Madness Returns, won't be available on Steam.
Like Hell am I using a publisher-exclusive digital distribution platform (and yes, ladies, I'm well-aware that was originally what Steam was as well, but it's safe to say it has evolved beyond that).
EA is one publisher I don't trust with anything centralised... Can you say "EA Download Manager?"
First - I lolled about the attempt to remove all the videos from Youtube. Seriously ... this is the internet.
Secondly - removing their games from Steam is a bit of a bum move - I suppose it will make support for those games a little easier, but this now forces users to adopt yet another distribution service - given recent events (hackings etc) I'd be more inclined to reduce my presence online, rather than sign up for extra services. Also, why do I want another service clogging up my resources. Of course, I could always quit the one before launching the other, but ...
I'd be surprised if EA doesn't get any backlash from users because of this decision.
Yeah, we've seen how sterling and decisive gamers are about those:
"I HATE YOU FOR DOING THAT TO [insert game name here], I'LL NEVER SUPPORT YOU AGAIN, GO BURN IN HE .... Oooh ... [insert game name here] just release ... must buy *drool*"
No ... I'm sure there's just going to be a lot of whining and swearing and general unpleasantness before people go out and buy BF3 anyways - and I'm not even suggesting boycotting - but, I'm just a little less certain about actually buying BF3 now. That's all.
Well I am disappointed.

I play alot of ea games so i dont really mind using there services. Plus maybe it will make there games a bit cheaper, instead of paying valve money to sell there games.
