Yep, I got a email from SEGA explaining the situation.
I thought this kind of stuff only happened in bad 90s hacker movies.
Doesn't really matter how up to date they keep their systems, there will always be someone willing and able, with spare time on their hands, to get around it.
Just look at DRM, no matter how advanced, or improved, or complicated it gets, it usually gets cracked within a day, if not before release.
