Yeah, Teamspeak channels are easy to setup anyway. All I know is, Minecraft is VERY CPU and RAM intensive, especially when hosting.
I would suggest Teamspeak 2 though, in case players with 384 lines and such, can't handle Teamspeak 3.

I would love a Minecraft server so I support this initiative![]()
Err OH YES! hi.
Since It seems your refering to the WAGE server. The reason is anyone can connect and break stuff and steal stuff. So having them whitelisted(MOD) is to prevent, anyone coming on the server and doing that. The vanila server is great for friends multiplayer but as soon as you have a dedicated server you need to take in acount not everyone are friends and so have to add mods to prevent people from PVP where ever or put a lava block on the spawn block so anyone that dies goes and dies again in this block of lava.
Also 1.6 is very unsable so the server gets regular restarts and 1 dedicated admin and a few extra to help out.
Pretty high I remember Choc saying he could run 12 servers of Crysis 2.

Pretty much what Waco said. The applying/white-listing procedure needs to be in place to prevent people from griefing. Unfortunately there have been many cases in the past where people decide that they would like to have a little bit of fun and destroy other peoples stuff. So in future, people need to apply and motivate why they wish to join. Once that has been done, they are added to the white-list and are able view/access the world apart from regions protecting spawn etc.
Generally the server is heavy on resources and requires a fair amount of maintenance, in terms of updates and player control. The amount of CPU and RAM usage is pretty phenomenal, even on a Xeon, haven't really seen that with any other game servers.
OOOH YEAH!!!
Please do! This would be Epic!
I would be so ampted
Basically all you need to do is download the server software from mincecraft.net, now there are to options. You can either have the server authenticate with the minecraft logon server which would require everyone to have a payed for copy of the game. or you may run it without the authentication and anyone with the same version of the game may join. There is a whitelist included which basically if enable only allows people on the server if their names are on the list. Personally i think the whitelist is good because it stops people from smurfing and changing their nicknames every 5min.
please do this but the question is how are we going to host it since hamachi has a limit on the people so about 15 people can join on one hamachi sooooo now we just have to think how we going to host it![]()
I've hosted the server for awhile, aswell as my friend for decent/ryno etc..
The minecraft community is a great success, and iGame should really consider taking this opportunity to support a growing community.
The way we play it, you have the person who hosts the server as the main admin and you give every OP which allows players the freedom of admin. It really is great, and the stuff we build is really great and we spent hours playing it.
I'll be hosting the server until we get a response from you guys!
Great idea decent![]()

Thanks, but I actually wasn't referring to your server by itself, I am aware of more then one server being active locally that uses this "Club" setup.
I can only see that type of system working if you have a truly neutral party or panel of players deciding on who plays and who doesn't, which is probably the route we would follow
