Nope, not triple aaa pricing. Triple A pricing.
Look at Take2's top selling games:
Duke Nukem Forever: R351 http://www.take2.co.za/games-duke-nu...-rom-6501.html
Witcher 2: R361 http://www.take2.co.za/games-the-wit...m-8925436.html
Fable 3: R324 http://www.take2.co.za/games-fable-3...m-7280179.html
Dungeon Siege 3: R351 http://www.take2.co.za/games-dungeon...m-9625963.html
and so forth.
On Steam it's the same thing. Same price as Dirt 3 for instance. MW2 is an Activision game and they price their games high because they know it will sell.

Actually, if you we're smart enough to pre-order it 12 years ago, you might have gotten it at the 12 year old price.
Some guy pre-ordered the Balls of Steel Edition from Gamestop in 2001 and kept his receipt and Gamestop has honoured the discount. Gearbox even made sure he got the 10th Balls of Steel Edition produced (with certificate signed by the studio) and a bunch of other stuff. source
Agreed. I buy most of my games on console so I'm used to paying R435 (if it's an EA game) and R519 from other publishers (sometimes more) per game. If it's too expensive for you, simply don't buy it.
