Funny story... Lionhead used to make such unique games (dare I say along with the likes of Interplay) although, where Interplay's games were almost always outright silly, Lionhead did silly with a refreshing pinch of seriousness.
Tpex actually had me thinking about all the old Bullfrog games (Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper, Populous, Powermonger, etc) and then Lionhead's old games (Black & White, Fable) and how since Fable they've kind of just... stuck to it. They stopped coming up with newer, smarter, more innovative games and just resold the same IP to... well... a state of catatonia.
Right now I wonder if teh 'Neux isn't holding Lionhead back? Or if he's just run out of ideas and had developer's block for the last six years?
Fable2 was really a disappointment when compared to Fable1. They left out ALL the cool stuff:
Epic looking armor sets
Armor Stats
Insanely cool weapons
Worthwhile silver-chest and demon door rewards
NO GUNS!
A proper minimap.
Most of all, the armor and weapons in Fable1 were an accomplishment to achieve. I still remember Avon's Tear, the bereaver and the harbinger and I played that game aaaaages ago.
Also, fighting jack of blades in an epic finale ... vs one-shotting the final boss in Fable2 somehow just doesn't compare.
Meh, Fable 3 on PC was a misstep. People with rigs pushing Witcher 2's graphics on the highest are having trouble with the game. Of course, there's no update to fix this in sight. They already have our money, why should they worry about fixing the broken game sold to us.
