These are the ten top rated games of 2011 so far

Portal 2 was genius and it has my vote. There is however nearly half a year left for my mind to change. :)

4. LA Noire (PS3, 360) 89.60%
3. Dead Space 2 (PC, PS3, 360) 89.87%

Only ones i've played.

8. Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (PS3, 360) 86.99% - personally haven't played it but from what I've heard, mortal Kombat is better.

The Witcher 2 is (obviously) the best game to be released this year, or any year for that matter. :p

IMO L.A. Noire does not deserve to be on that list, it's extremely overrated and one of the most boring games I have ever had the displeasure of playing. Facial animation was mindblowing though.

Hmmm....LBP2 was in my opinion not that awesome. The new tools like the grappling hook and power gloves worked well, but the silly levels of riding bees, rabbits & hamsters just took away from what made the first one so awesome in my opinion. I practically finished it in a day and sold it.

I think the fact you say it has a feature which is mind blowing is a good enough reason to put it on the list. Yes it may not be great in other aspects, but its done something way better than any other game, which means hopefully other companies will follow their example and make games with the same facial animation and better game-play. If this happens gaming in general is better off because of this game.

Alpha Protocol had a pretty awesome dialogue system. Doesn't make it a good game. Sadly, one great feature just isn't enough for me. I play games mostly to relax and have fun, not to have my mind blown by awesome facial animations.

I'm with Wlad on this one. I got bored with LA Noire very fast, yes the facial animations is good but the rest of the gameplay paled in comparison. The detective logic is flawed, the investigation mechanic too limited. Like their other titles Rockstar is able to produce an interesting, fleshed out world but what they can't seem to get right is to sustain my attention.
