Yes, well, the PC and consoles are catering towards different markets so you cannot compare them.
The PC is the all-rounder in computing and the consoles are for gaming, each one has their pros and cons.

You do realise that for a price of a new, updated console you'll most likely end up paying less than an upgrade for your PC in order to play those games in a few years time? Hardware that's a few years of age is *not* going to play the latest games well.

Well people have made different choices based on their own tastes, i know i went the console route because i missed the ease of use and the fact that i didnt need to upgrade hardware all the time to run the latest games, once my xbox becomes dated ill build a gaming rig and stick with that until the 8th generation of consoles drop to a reasonable price. That way i still have the multiple functionality of a pc, and will have a console as well once my pc becomes too dated for games.

Yeah that sounds like a good plan. I'll stick with my PS3 for now but will have to upgrade my PC once again for Diablo 3. Not sure if my PC will run it but will upgrade it even if it does.

I am not aware if the specs have been released yet... isn't it a bit early, considering there is no official release date for it yet?

I would imagine though, that a half-decent pc should be able to play it.

I would say it would use wow's specs with a higher shadermodel card 4.0 minimum.
