Default Xbox 360 Controller on PC (Also, on what platform are you getting Skyrim?)

I was thinking about Skryim releasing soon and was wondering on what platform I should buy. It was between the PC and 360. I reckoned the PC would have the advantage in the graphics department - and would also be 10 times more epic with the dedicated mod community - while the 360 provides a casual experience (lying on the bed, sitting more comfortably) and I like the feel of the controller more than the keyboard+mouse combo. The buttons together feel great, and it just feels much more real walking around with analog sticks and, for example, pulling the trigger to shoot/swing. I prefer this for long gaming sessions.

I emailed some guys on the Bethesda forums and apparently Skyrim PC will have full 360 controller support and you will probably be able to still assign spells and the like on the keyboard. This made me decide to go for the PC version but with the 360 controller.

So I wanted to know if anyone plays PC games, that also release on Xbox 360, with the 360 controller and if the experience is still the same as it would be on the 360? Does anyone prefer this? I'm asking because I've actually never tried it.

It works perfectly fine, I play Pro Evo 2011 and racing games with my controller. If you get wireless, you'll need a wireless usb receiver. You also need drivers for the receiver AND for the controller, but shouldn't be difficult to find... I mention that because it took me 30minutes the other day to realise that my receiver was working fine, but without the controller drivers I couldn't get anywhere

Yeah I play plenty of games on my PC using a 360 controller, got a wired black one just for the job. It's great to be able to chose which input device you want to use. Games like Assassin's Creed, Just Cause, Darksiders, etc... are perfect for kicking back and relaxing with a controller in hand on a comfy couch or chair.

Since most games now are available on consoles they usually just bring over fully integrated controller support to the PC versions. It's a little annoying in Fallout 3 because when I forget my controller plugged in it always seems to override the kb/mouse. So yeah experience is identical, control wise, to playing it on a 360.

Now all we need is for Steam to release their Big Picture Mode and we'll be set.
