What I said would happen. Some of the bidders there also looked suspiciously like planted bots to me. This website is now illegal though under the CPA.

I read all the rules I thought I had a good strategy in my head. It was my slow internet line that let me down in the end.

@Prometheus, Tell me more about how it is not in accordance of the CPA? Perhaps I can get refunded for the credits I have left. That would be nice. Then I'll only have wasted R500. If I can get it back, it would pay for the extremely stupidly expensive Matric dance that I have to pay for going to :/

I don't know but apparently penny auctions (which is what this is) are now illegal. Smokoo said that they would comply with the new law which they had until June I think to do. I don't really see how they can do that though and still be a penny auction site.

There was an article about this somewhere on mybb I think... or it was from one of the news sites and copied by mybb again...

Hmmm... Maybe they will get around it by saying that it is not a penny auctions site but more of a competition...

Just saying it isn't changes nothing.
    Penny-auctioning is considered gambling.
    Online gambling is illegal.
    Smokoo is illegal.
    The end.

The only way for them to "get around" that is to stop charging for bids.
And at that point, they won't make their money.

    Repeat after me:

"If it's to good to be true, it's a scam"
"If it's to good to be true, it's a scam"
"If it's to good to be true, it's a scam"

"If it's to good to be true, it's a scam"

You get a phone call from someone telling you've won something due to a friends referral, what you do?

Doesn't really matter since you never know when someone enters your name/number in a referral link for a "free gift", "free airtime or whatever". Already had two friends who fell for that crap, all they do is get more details out of you then sell those details.
